Winter sports

Szczyrk is a paradise for lovers of winter sports! There are ski resorts for both advanced skiers and beginner winter sports enthusiasts. The most popular include Szczyrk Mountain Resort, Biały Krzyż, Central Sports Centre, Kaimówka or Beskid Sport Arena. Fans of other forms of skiing will also find something for themselves here - cross-country skiing in Szczyrk can be practised on a special track located near the Lodowa Cave.

Szczyrk for active people means not only ski resorts, but also a multitude of cycling routes. Mountain biking in Szczyrk can be practised on numerous natural trails as well as in the area of the Szczyrk Mountain resort, where singletrack Enduro Trails with a varied level of advancement have been created. Cyclists looking for smaller doses of excitement will also enjoy the advantages of the town - it is worth taking a ride along the picturesque promenade by the Żylica River.

Hiking trails

Szczyrk and its surroundings are ideal places for hiking with direct contact with captivating nature. The town is located in the heart of the Beskid Żywiecki Landscape Park, which is criss-crossed by a dense network of PTTK (Polish Tourist Country-Lovers' Association) hiking trails, snagging spectacular viewpoints, local peaks and natural attractions. Szczyrk also attracts pilgrims - two Polish sections of the Jacob Trail, part of the European Camino de Santiago network, merge in the town.

Cable car to Skrzyczne

The cable car to Skrzyczne is one of the biggest attractions of Szczyrk, offering a picturesque journey to the highest peak of Beskid Śląski (1257 m). The modern gondola and chairlift provides comfortable transport both in summer and winter, allowing access to ski slopes and numerous hiking trails. The summit offers a breathtaking view of the Beskid panorama, and in good weather you can even see the Tatras.

St. Jacobs Square

St James's Square is the heart of Szczyrk, full of greenery and charming alleys, ideal for a stroll or a moment's rest. It is a meeting place for locals and tourists, where numerous cultural events and seasonal fairs take place. In the central part of the square, there is a fountain and a sculpture of St. James, the town's patron saint, referring to the Beskid pilgrimage tradition.
